thinking about the physical contradictions of dean and castiel. hmm. only touch under the most platonic and fleeting of instances but are never too far away, always orbiting each other. cas knit dean’s bones back together and left a piece of his grace behind, but cannot reach out in open tenderness. they’ve beaten each other bloody and they’re always the first to patch one another up. it’s like hmmmm. i will keep you at a distance while considering you blood of my blood and flesh of my flesh and all my energy will be used in Awareness of you while i am magnetized by your presence but we will never join.

i will mark you with my blood and use my last moments to push you to safety, you will bear my handprint but never hold my hand while we both breathe on this earth
